FAQs

Do you offer family therapy?

Yes, I offer family therapy with parents and children for a variety of concerns including teen depression, anxiety, and OCD. I also provide parent-based therapy for parents of children with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms and ‘failure to launch’ or Highly Dependent Adult Children. Family therapy and parent-based therapy is an extended session length to accommodate the needs of multiple members.

Do you offer online and in person therapy to kids and teens?

From many years of experience working with kids and families, I have learned that children and teens’ mental health needs are best met with therapy in person. I require minor clients to come into my office in Ventura, however, I will allow an occasional switch to Telehealth for unique circumstances.

What therapy approach do you use with children and families?

I use modalities that have strong empirical support for recovery:

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)

  • SPACE FTL (Failure to Launch)

  • Independence Therapy

  • Attachment-Based Family Therapy (for teen depression)

Do you only treat anxiety and OCD?

While I specialize in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, I also treat related conditions:

  • Compulsive Overuse of Digital Technology (“Internet Addiction”)

  • Failure to Launch or Highly Dependent Adult Children

  • Hoarding Disorder

Do you see children and adults?

Yes. Most of my practice is adult-focused, however, I do treat preteens and teens with evidence-based therapy modalities that involve parents. I only treat children and teens whose parents are able to commit to collaborative or parent-based treatment. I don’t offer play therapy or see children individually at this time.

I am traveling outside of California or live outside of the state, can I see you for therapy?

Unfortunately, not at this time. Current licensing laws require you to be present in California where I am licensed to provide psychotherapy. If you are traveling outside of California we will have to reschedule or pause services depending on how long you will be out of the state.
